This is my favourite garage I have had the pleasure of working with. David gives a transparent quick and effective service. I had an MOT on my car that I need for work. H saved me over £200 by going that extra mile and fixing a part of my car that would have needed replacing. He could have just said it's not functional and he would have been well within his rights. But he didn't and he did not charge me extra for it either. he also got the car back to me on the same day and told me that the other repairs were cheaper than he had estimated so took it off the bill. I cannot recommend this garage highly enough. I can guarantee you will not find this level of honesty or customer care at any other competitor. Thank you!

Intelligent approach worked first time on my Polo Automatic. I'd tried my local garage first who quoted a high price for something which, with hindsight, would not have fixed the problem. We broke down whilst on holiday and had to be recovered by the AA. Our van was taken to an approved garage (which shall remain nameless) who were quite unhelpful and could not guarantee it would be repaired in time for us to tow our caravan home. My car broke down while I was on holiday in this area. I knew nothing about this mechanic but was directed there by my car recovery service as the only local business 'open' on a Sunday. I was quite anxious leaving my car there on an otherwise silent industrial estate (the owner came to meet me as his staff don't actually appear to work on Sundays). However my anxiety was for no reason. Exeter Car Care were extremely professional and effective throughout. They were friendly and kept in constant communication with me over a stressful few days (as I was stranded in Exeter until the car could be repaired). They worked as quickly as possible within the limitations of securing the needed parts. They did a professional and effective repair on my car. The price was exceptionally reasonable and they even dropped the key off at my hotel for me when I couldn't get to their office by closing (so that I could set out early the next morning). I live in London so am unlikely to need their services again but I would not hesitate to use them again if they were local to me, and I would thoroughly recommend them.

Had reason to call out recovery vehicle from HG on 17th October around 4.30 pm, when clutch gave out on my Suzuki Vitara on the M38, near Exeter turn off for M5 & we were 100 miles from home in Bristol. HG & the recovery vehicle driver Jaime Starling done a Sterling job after being contacted from my roadside recovery company Eversure! Jaime was brilliant, when told he'd be there at 6.30pm he was & arranged for one lane to be closed via a police escort so my vehicle could be loaded up & everyone was kept safe as traffic prior were bowling through at 60mph!! With the minimum of fuss Jaime got us home safe & sound by 9.00pm & not only dropped us outside our front door but ensured my local garage had complete access to come & pick up & take the car in for repairs on another recovery vehicle next day. Both HG & Jamie Starling did a superb job & took a lot of our worries away with the speed & efficiency & effectiveness in the way they dealt with & reacted to the situation we found ourselves in & I can't thank them & particularly Jamie enough as he did a complete & very professional effective job. It was a 10/10 job & I'd give them higher if I could & hope as I'm sure they will give another poor unsuspecting customer the VIP treatment when it's needed as we found the experience uplifting for a change without any hassle or awkwardness & HG's professionalism got the job done & as far as I'm concerned did the Exeter branch proud & set the bar very high now. 🫶👊👍⭐

I took my Citroen C4 Grand Picasso in for an issue with the clutch, they fitted me in very quickly and did a full diagnostic on all components. Despite the mechanics trying they couldn't make the fault happen again, but found an issue with a sensor that was replaced as part of the check all for £78 including VAT. I got a vehicle health check too, very impressed with all the team from the mechanics to the reception desk, they kept me informed throughout and rang me swiftly to arrange the collection day. GMS have just diagnosed and repaired my R56 JCW mini, sadly it was a turbo failure. Great service and communication though out, I would highly recommend GMS to anyone! A more detailed review below for those that want to know a little more about the personal experience. Following diagnostics, upon removal of the turbo Jordan could see the previous garage had damaged the turbo fixing and bodged a repair on the quiet, you can see this from the photos! This unfortunately meant the turbo could now not be refurbished. So, I took the opportunity to upgrade to a Stage 2 turbo and have a decat fitted whilst having the repair done. The car is a pocket rocket now and sounds amazing! Jordan recommended renewing some additional rubber gaskets whilst the engine was easily accessible, as a preventative measure. I’m glad he did, as the heat exchanger gasket and others were like plastic and would have soon leaked. He also noticed the water pump had a small weep, I known failure point on these cars – so watch out! He recommended to change it now, should I want to. Else it could be done later; however, it would cost more in labour delaying it as its difficult to get to. New water pump and coolant flush it was then! Next on the agenda was the air conditioning. Whilst the car was in front end service more for the turbo repair, Jordan showed me how the condenser was bowed and split, which was the cause of the leak. A new condenser was fitted, and the system recharged whilst the car was apart, saving me further on labour time. So, in all the mini has been repaired and future proofed for a long time to come all in one hit! I have been using Jordan for years, prior to GMS. You get main dealer knowledge and experience, without the usual high cost. Great communication all the way through, recommendation of any other items which may be noticed whilst there. Note I said recommendation, not like some places where the work is carried out without permission first. Its his attention to detail and care with your car is what I like most. No risk of your car being bodged or damaged due to a rushed job and or neglect. Perfect for those with cherished motors! I was even treated to a cup of tea whilst I visited to see the issues present, what else could you ask for!
