I have used Motest in Farnham for several years both for my car and my wife's servicing and MOTs. They have always been professional and courteous and they have gone a good job. Over the past few months I have had a persistent issue with my BMW 3 Series with engine malfunction warning lights. They could not get to the bottom of the issue initially but went to the expense of getting some specialist testing equipment and located the issue. They suggested usuing a non-BMW part and fitted it but this did not resolve the issue after a couple of drives. I took the car back and they spent several weeks (off and on while I had a loan car) trying to resolve the issue. In the end it was decided that a BMW part should be fitted. This was done and it now works perfectly. I was only charged the additional cost over the non-BMW part and no additional labour charges when they must have spent many hours getting to the bottom of the problem. Above and beyond and exceptional service! Thasnk you Joe and the team at Motest.

Hawthorns is with out a doubt not just the best garage I have ever used in over 20 years of driving but also one of the best companies I have ever dealt with. Over the last year my wife and I have used them a number of times for services and part replacement and they are always quick, fantastic value and honest. On 2 occasions they finished the work quicker than expected so took some money off the price when I picked it up (they didn't need to do that but they did). Cars always return gleaming and spotless and on 2 occasions they fixed something minor that was wrong with my car (one of the tracks on my seat had split and my rear door had filled with water) while they were doing something else. That fitter didn't check their work properly so the bulbs were directing upwards....so raised beams at night for oncoming traffic. Never used Charlie at Golftec before, stumbled across his garage. Took my Golf in for a full service, which he did, but he spotted so many other things about the car also - the fact the rear windscreen wiper was shot, that there was a bit of brake judder & one or two other things too which showed his care. & attention. As someone who generally finds himself thrilled if the garage could be arsed to just do the basic service half decently, to find someone who goes way above & beyond that feels a bit like unearthing a Gandalf of the mechanicing world.. Really good people. Booked a service for my F-type, got a detailed estimate within 30 mins and the work was carried out exactly to the estimate and the time indicated. Following the service I noticed a rustling sound when at speed and took the car back for this to be investigated. As is typical with these things, the noise had disappeared when I took a technician out in the car. Regardless of this he inspected the air filter/fan and vacuumed the air feed ducting. The noise has definitely gone. Good luck getting service like this from a main dealer!
