So.... BMW X1 makes noise, doesn't change with speed, just noise and vibration through gear stick. Take to local garage, Allen & Cowser, who diagnose transfer box but not a job they wanted to undertake. Took car to several gearbox "specialists" who each diagnose something different, some will only help if I remove the gear box and deliver it, none mention transfer box. Found Motorsolve who confirmed transfer box. Got it booked in promptly, work carried out in timescale promised and within the cost quoted. Excellent and honest work carried out by professionals. Car drives like new again. Thank you to both garages for help diagnosing and repairing.

I really want to thank Timmy sincerely for his help. What happened was that my front left tire blew out, so I parked in a safe spot. When I was hesitating, I saw Timmy's shop right in front of me. So I approached him to help me change the tire. Unfortunately, his shop did not have the tyre model of my car at that time. However, he was so eager to tell me that there was another repair center nearby that could help me. He even drove my car there. Then, he left only after seeing that I was safe and had someone to help me. This selfless act of helping others is truly precious. Although Timmy was unable to repair my car in the end, his helpful and professional character meant that if my car had any problems in the future, I think he would be a very responsible technician. I cannot praise Mick and Rat enough. They are the last of the ture mechanics. It seems that nowadays most are either "technicians" or they just lack the knowledge. Before I came to Mick I went to 3, yes THREE reputable mechanics for solving black smoke on acceleration, over an entire year. Mick understood the problem within a minute. And solved it. Later he solved another major issue with a process, slightly of elimination, largely out of knowledge. Who will he pass his knowledge and practice principles onto? I wish I knew. I have told him personally he is not a mechanic, he is a magician. I know this review is over-effusive, but relative to all of my other local mechanic experiences, this guy is just plain the 100% one, actually 110%.

"I've been a customer at this S&N auto service for several years now. As for the service itself, I can give it a 5-star rating. However, when it comes to pricing, I can only give it 3 stars. They've significantly increased their prices, and now they even adjust them based on the type of car you have. For instance, if you bring in a car they consider to require less work, like just an oil change and filter replacement, the price is lower. But for newer cars, the price is higher. In my opinion, there should be a standard price, not one based on the type of car, as this only disadvantages the customer and benefits them. 3 stars for pricing.
