I recently took my car to McCarthy Cars (UK) - Service Centre at Silver Wing Industrial Estate, Horatius Way, Croydon, for its annual service. Typically, their service is quick, and I can expect the car to be ready within a day. However, this time, things were very different. The service took over a week, which was a significant delay compared to their usual efficiency. The issue seemed to stem from the diagnostics process, which took much longer than anticipated. What added to my frustration was the lack of communication. I was not updated about the status of my car, and I had to reach out to them several times for information. This lack of communication was disappointing, as I usually have no complaints about their customer service. When the car was finally ready, I was relieved to find that the service itself was completed to a high standard. The team performed the required repairs and maintenance thoroughly, and my car was in great condition afterward. However, the cost was another issue. I ended up paying three times the amount I had initially budgeted for, which was a significant surprise. While the quality of the work was good, the lack of transparency about pricing and the extended service time left me feeling dissatisfied. Overall, while McCarthy Cars still offers quality service, this experience was far less satisfactory than usual. I hope they can improve their communication and pricing transparency in the future.
I have given 5* for the honesty of the gentleman at the sales desk. Initially came to swap my s8 for an xc90 but didn't go ahead, however I felt valued and educated to make me understand what is what. Thank you
Very good service from sales especially Maria, and also at service Garage put right my tyre .Good Will. Would recommend..
Very helpful staff. Forgot my MOT was going to expire in a week. Called on a Monday, took it in on Thursday and picked it up on Friday. Couldn't ask for a better experience
